We all know the stats: young adults have faced extreme isolation and chronic online comparison in recent years, making it easy to feel unseen or uncertain of their worth. It shouldn’t be necessary for young people to rely on peers for validation. Despite these challenges, this generation is remarkable—over 40% of young adults globally believe that Jesus offers hope and truly cares about people (Barna, Open Generation, 2022). The heart of our mission is simple but life-changing: Know God. Live Brave. Love Your Generation.
For almost 70 years, YWAM has been providing DTS training that transforms lives. Each year, YWAM deploys around 25,000 short-term missionaries worldwide. The Coast to Bush DTS at Tahlee is a five-month immersive experience designed to reveal God-given identity, ignite courage, and release young people into God’s adventure. Through lectures, intentional community, and weekly spiritual rhythms, participants from across the globe encounter God in real and practical ways, grow in faith, and develop spiritual habits that last a lifetime.
Years of consistent research show that both spiritual practices and time outdoors produce positive outcomes for well-being. In a national survey of U.S. youth (ages 14–24), 51.6% reported that spending time in nature made them feel calmer, and 22.1% said it helped reduce stress or anxiety (Zamora et al., 2020).
